A person acquiring this qualification will be able to manage first line managers in an organisational entity. First line managers may include team leaders, supervisors, junior managers, section heads and foremen. The focus of this qualification is to enable learners to develop competence in a range of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values including:
- Initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating operational strategies, projects and action plans, and where appropriate, recommending change within teams and/or the unit so as to improve the effectiveness of the unit.
- Monitoring and measuring performance and applying continuous or innovative
improvement interventions in the unit in order to attain its desired outcomes, including customer satisfaction, and thereby contributing towards the achievement of the objectives and vision of the entity. - Leading a team of first line managers, by capitalising on the talents of team members and promoting synergistic interaction between individuals and teams, to enhance individual, team and unit effectiveness in order to achieve the goals of the entity.
- Building relationships using communication processes both vertically and horizontally within the unit, with superiors and with stakeholders across the value chain to ensure the achievement of intended outcomes.
- Applying the principles of risk, financial and knowledge management and business ethics within internal and external regulatory frameworks in order to ensure the effectiveness and sustainability of the unit.
- Enhancing the development of teams and team members through facilitating the acquisition of skills, coaching, providing career direction, and capitalising on diversity in the unit.
It is assumed that learners are competent in:
- Communication at NQF Level 4.
- Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4
Recognition of prior learning The structure of this Unit Standard based Qualification makes the Recognition of Prior Learning possible. Learner and Assessor will jointly decide on methods to determine prior learning and competence in the knowledge, skills, values and attitudes implicit in the Qualification and the associated Unit Standards. Recognition of Prior Learning will be done by means of an Integrated Assessment.
This Recognition of Prior Learning may allow for:
- Accelerated access to further learning at this or higher levels on the NQF
- Gaining of credits for Unit Standards in this Qualification
- Obtaining this Qualification in whole or in part.
1. Training Provider recognises English as the business language used in South Africa and thus we present our training in English.
2. Training Provider recognises the need to develop citizens who can participate effectively in a multi lingual society. We will adhere to any specific requirements specified in the Unit Standards and/or Qualifications we train.
3. Our second language is Afrikaans. However we try to accommodate any of the 11 official languages.
This is a 12 months qualification, however RPL will individually determine the period of each learner.

After verification by Services SETA external moderator, Certificate of competence will be issued by Services SETA. Learners that were found not yet competent, will receive the SOA and the SETA approved Certificate from Mcanyi Group.
1. Neither party shall be liable for nonperformance or delay of performance which is due to any cause beyond its reasonable control including (without limitation) inclement weather, fire, flood, industrial action, explosions, government regulations and orders and acts of God.
2. In the event that the course cannot be delivered by Mcanyi Group due to Force Majeure then Mcanyi Group reserves the right to provide the course at another time and date without additional charge to the client.
